About This Project

The roof on this barn-style outbuilding outside Utica had taken years of open-field wind, and a storm finally pushed its aging three-tab shingles past their limit — lifting, creasing, and tearing loose across the slopes. We documented the wind damage slope by slope for the insurance claim, tore the old roof off down to the decking, and rebuilt it with new synthetic underlayment and charcoal architectural shingles, finishing with a full cleanup.

Scope of Work

  • Full inspection and documentation of the wind damage for the insurance claim
  • Complete tear-off of the existing three-tab shingles down to the roof decking
  • Inspection of the decking with repairs where needed
  • New synthetic underlayment across the full roof
  • Ice-and-water shield in the valleys and along the eaves
  • New architectural (dimensional) asphalt shingles in charcoal
  • New flashing and sealed roof penetrations
  • Full property protection and a magnetic nail sweep at cleanup
